A Prayer in Darkness

If to You the darkness is as light,

it is not to me;

the darkness comes hard.

Yet I have loved darkness

when it suited and rejoiced

that darkness covered me.

I know it was Your blessing

that kept my thoughts unknown,

my words unheard

and my deeds unseen.

So if You wanted me to know

that You learned from me,

know that I want to learn

from You.

Teach me with light.
